Why Peace of Mind Shouldn’t Stop at the Gate: The Live Easy x SheRyde Story

At Live Easy, our promise has always extended far beyond offering stylish, modern, and affordable residential spaces. We believe in building thriving communities where our tenants feel secure, inspired, and empowered to live their best lives. But true lifestyle and empowerment cannot stop at our front gates—it must carry through into every aspect of our tenants’ daily lives.

We gathered the inspiring women of Live Easy Fourways for an intimate, eye-opening evening to launch an exciting, game-changing e-hailing service tailored for women, by women: SheRyde

Live Easy Visits the FridA Full-Circle Story: Rooted in Our Very Own Hallsa Hartley Shelter

What made this event so special—and uniquely personal to Live Easy—is that SheRyde is not just another brand partnership. Its story traces directly back to Slindile Mkhize, a former Live Easy Fourways tenant! It was right here, within these very walls, that Slindile recognized the gap in safe transport for South African women. It was at Live Easy Fourways that she piloted her very first group of women riders into her new e-hailing service. Seeing a former tenant return to her roots to launch a movement that uplifts the sisterhood in the exact building where her entrepreneurial journey started was an emotional, full-circle moment for our team and residents alike.

The Panel: Unpacking the Raw Realities of Commuting

During the event, we hosted an honest, insightful panel discussion that tackled a topic heavy on many women’s minds: the severe safety challenges female commuters face when relying on traditional e-hailing services.

In South Africa, public and private transport has become a major pain point, often accompanied by heightened vigilance, anxiety, and fear. The room echoed with nod after nod as women shared their personal commuting experiences and expectations.

Key Takeaways From the Panel:

1. What Women Look for Before Signing Up: Safety isn’t just a feature; it’s a non-negotiable prerequisite. The panel stressed the importance of rigorous driver background checks, verified identity protocols, real-time trip tracking, and direct emergency response features.

2. The “Extra Touches” That Matter: We explored how subtle, thoughtful details transform a trip from a stressful chore into a pleasant journey—driver professional

etiquette, clean and comfortable vehicle standards, options for silent rides, and subtle touchpoints that allow a passenger to truly let her guard down.

3. Community & Economic Upliftment: SheRyde isn’t only protecting women passengers—it’s also creating safe, dignified earning opportunities for women driver-partners across South Africa.

Announcing Our Live Easy SheRyde Ambassador

To keep this momentum growing and ensure our community stays connected to safe mobility, we were proud to officially announce our newly appointed Live Easy x SheRyde Brand Ambassador!

Chosen directly from our tenant pool at Live Easy Fourways, our new Ambassador, Cikizwa Bellafonte Mashologu will serve as a direct link between our community and the SheRyde team—helping spread awareness, assist tenants with onboarding, and advocate for female transport safety on the ground.

Why This Matters

As we head to Pretoria, we carry with us the warmth, gratitude, and inspiration from Frida Hartley. These experiences have a way of leaving a mark — shaping not just how we think, but how we act.

Our goal is to make giving back a defining part of our culture. Imagine what we could achieve if each of us looked for opportunities to lift others up in small but consistent ways. A few minutes of our time. A little extra effort. A willingness to listen. These are the things that turn generosity into a lifestyle.
