What made this event so special and uniquely personal to Live Easy is that SheRyde is not just another brand partnership. Its story traces directly back to Slindile Mkhize, a former Live Easy Fourways tenant!
It was right here, within these very walls, that Slindile recognized the gap in safe transport for South African women. It was at Live Easy Fourways that she piloted her very first group of women riders into her new e-hailing service. Seeing a former tenant return to her roots to launch a movement that uplifts the sisterhood in the exact building where her entrepreneurial journey started was an emotional, full-circle moment for our team and residents alike.
During the event, we hosted an honest, insightful panel discussion that tackled a topic heavy on many women’s minds: the severe safety challenges female commuters face when relying on traditional e-hailing services.
In South Africa, public and private transport has become a major pain point, often accompanied by heightened vigilance, anxiety, and fear. The room echoed with nod after nod as women shared their personal commuting experiences and expectations.
1. What Women Look for Before Signing Up: Safety isn’t just a feature; it’s a non-negotiable prerequisite. The panel stressed the importance of rigorous driver background checks, verified identity protocols, real-time trip tracking, and direct emergency response features.

Chosen directly from our tenant pool at Live Easy Fourways, our new Ambassador, Cikizwa Bellafonte Mashologu will serve as a direct link between our community and the SheRyde team helping spread awareness, assist tenants with onboarding, and advocate for female transport safety on the ground.
